Matters of the Heart Volume 1

Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) has a way of stopping everyone in its tracks. That is what it did to Sandra Kay when she first met Chloe – who became the inspiration for this book of incredible stories.

Matters of the Heart: Volume I is filled with big stories about some of the littlest heroes. Accompanied by a photo, each child’s tale is lovingly told by the parents who know the stories best.

Combined with a helpful glossary of terms and a list of resources, the stories in Matters of the Heart: Volume I, are not only tales of what has been, but also tales of what can be. Yes, many of them hold sorrow, but all of them hold the promise of new things to come.

Much like a broken heart which becomes stronger as it heals, the healing power of the stories shared within can only make us all stronger, as well.

As a child psychologist, Sandra Kay has met children all over the world while actively working on environmental and health related issues for the last 15 years of her life. While creating her first children's book ANGELina-Don't be afraid of the Dark, she was introduced to the devastating statistics of Congenital Heart Defects and the urgent need for more public awareness of them. She decided to join the CHD community and created her organization, Matters of the Heart, home for many CHD projects like creating giftbags for little CHD patients in hospitals or the CHD Awareness Brochure for the US, UK, Australia and Canada.
