ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Witnessing the dedication and unconditional love of families for their children and the amazing gifts each child brings to us to share, John Durkin continues pursuing his passion to serve those with special needs. John received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from the University of Dayton. He began his post-graduate work at the University of Arizona and completed his Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Ashland University. John is currently an intervention specialist at Jackson High School in Massillon, Ohio. He lives in Hartville, Ohio, with Carolyn, his wife of 24 years, and their two gifts to the world, Alicia and Nicholas. John has drawn upon his 30-plus years of experiences in the field of special education to produce Lessons from Ty. This is his first book.
